Alex Grubard at Church of Satire

Alex Grubard is a comedian. He is also a writer, actor, producer and game show host, but he is not a musician. Grubard has performed stand-up on mtvU, sketch on Comedy Central and heard on SiriusXM. Born in New York City, raised in Boston, educated in Philadelphia and now thriving in Jersey City, Grubard has been performing stand-up comedy since he was a teenager. His first stand-up album “Let Me Teach You How To Distill Gin” was released on Helium Comedy Records in 2021. He regularly performs at Helium Comedy Club, Punch Line Comedy Club, Asylum NYC and Brooklyn Comedy Club where he has opened for headliners Dave Attell, Kevin Nealon, Tommy Davidson, Bobby Lee, Rachael Feinstein and Pete Holmes. He was selected to compete in the 41st Seattle Comedy Competition as well as featured in the Cape Fear Comedy Festival, North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival, First Person Arts Festival and Philly Fringe Arts. He is host and creator of the highly popular cannabis game show Weeding Out The Stoned, which has been featured in the New York Comedy Festival, The Highlarious Comedy Festival and WOOtenany. Weeding Out The Stoned has been called, “endearingly absurd,” by Brooklyn Vegan and written about in Time Out New York, Philadelphia Inquirer, Denver Westword, Delaware News Journal, Worcester Telegram, Emerald Magazine, Rooster Magazine and NORML Insider Guide. In addition to Weeding Out The Stoned he co-hosts Corgi Comedy Club at Corgi Spirits and Crockpot at Pet Shop JC. He refuses to learn an instrument.
